I would just like to remind everyone that, unless Micah has told Bastion (and he actually believed him), Bastian has no idea about Owen or any of the stuff going on. Bastion was just (or is about to be) informed via Lazaro’s announcement that PJ was the Sovereign City Slasher.
That PJ is the guy who killed his friend.
And all of his experienced in-comic evidence could EASILY point to PJ
The guys that had been bullying PJ were supposedly killed by him.
The night all of this happened, Bastion himself found PJ wandering the streets after the murders had happened and PJ was totally out of it, looked kind of shell-shocked, then kissed him.
He acted SUPER weirdly at the memorial thing, and talked in a manner that clearly didn’t make sense to Bastian, which means he probably never told him about Owen and everything.
AND the “hero” of the city, the authority on zombies, just told him PJ was the killer (or is about to? It says earlier in the day maybe the announcement hasn’t happened yet?)
Basically BASTIAN THINKS HIS BOYFRIEND IS THE GUY WHO HAS BEEN KILLING PEOPLE, ONE OF WHICH WAS HIS FRIEND AND SO IS PROBABLY GOING THROUGH A BUNCH OF EMOTIONAL LOOPS, FEELING CONFUSED AND BETRAYED, AND MAY NOT ACTUALLY WANT TO SAVE HIM/TRUST HIM and might not believe Micah if he tries to explain.
